[Spectrum Community Outreach] The journey “Care For Your Eyes, Shine For Your Future” with over 700 children in 2025

2025 has been a year filled with care and meaningful moments. Our “Care For Your Eyes, Shine For Your Future” journey reached even more children and touched the community in deeper ways. With kindness and dedication, we continued not only to care for children’s eyes but also to build confidence and hope for their future. Every bright smile and clear gaze inspired us to keep spreading warmth and support.

Stories of Sight, Hope, and Heart

The Spectrum Community Outreach program conducted full eye examinations to accurately assess the vision needs of both children and older adults, revealing several previously undetected refractive issues. Based on these findings, custom lenses were crafted for each individual and carefully fitted into the donated frames, ensuring clear and comfortable vision support for all.

In keeping with our promise to return every six months, we revisited the communities we previously supported to provide follow-up eye screenings and ensure the children’s vision continues to be cared for. This year, we returned to Binh Tho Development Center and the Phuoc Thien Charity Class in both March and September, offering updated examinations and renewed visual support. The September journey also opened the door to two additional destinations, Ky Quang Pagoda and Hanoi Orphanage Center in Bien Hoa, allowing us to reach more children and broaden the impact of our mission.

Alongside vision care, we also brought small but heartfelt gifts: sweets, notebooks, school supplies and mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival, simple presents that brought joy, comfort, and encouragement to each child’s learning journey.

A learning space for nearly 150 underserved children, where education becomes the first step toward creating brighter futures.

Ky Quang Pagoda is home to more than 120 orphaned and abandoned children, including many with disabilities.

A volunteer-led classroom supporting around 50 children who cannot attend formal school due to economic hardship or difficult family situations.

A community space for 137 children from working families, where limited resources often mean little access to proper healthcare or vision care.

How the Spectrum Community Outreach works

The Spectrum Community Outreach program follows a thoughtful, step-by-step process to bring clear vision to children in need. Gently used eyewear is collected not only at Spectrum Eyecare stores but also through our partner schools, including Anne Hill International School and British International School (BIS).

Each donated frame is carefully inspected, cleaned, and restored by our team before being prepared for reuse. Free eye examinations are then conducted to accurately assess individual vision needs. Based on the results, new lenses are crafted and fitted into the renewed frames. Each completed pair of glasses is personally delivered, transforming a donated frame into a meaningful gift of sight and a brighter future.

A Commitment to ‘CARE FOR YOUR EYES, SHINE FOR YOUR FUTURE’

As a key part of the Spectrum Community Outreach, our 2025 journey brought us closer to more than 700 children through free comprehensive eye examination. Among them, around 200 students were found to have refractive errors and required timely visual support. It’s a reminder that many young eyes still need proper attention and care.
Over 300 old eyewear frames were donated by the community, each one becoming a gesture of generosity and an opportunity for a child to see more clearly, learn with greater ease, and walk into their day with renewed confidence.

These outcomes do more than highlight the need for eye-care access; they reaffirm the purpose behind our mission: to give every child the opportunity to protect their vision and embrace a brighter, clearer future.

Small Gifts, Big Warmth: A Mid-Autumn Celebration Full Of Love

Alongside vision care, small heartfelt gifts were also brought to the children from sweets to notebooks and school supplies. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, these simple presents carried even more warmth and meaning, adding joy and encouragement to the celebrations. Whether given in everyday visits or festive moments, each gift served as a reminder that the children are cared for, supported, and encouraged to keep learning, growing, and dreaming toward a brighter future.
